Shizentai is on Kidjutsu!

As we have now come to the conclusion of the very first chapter of Shizentai, I have decided to make it available on kidjutsu. For those of you who don't already know, kidjutsu is a collection of exclusively kid-friendly comics uploaded to one easy-to-browse website. Its purpose is to be a comic resource for parents and kids minus overtly adult content (though there is a rating system from the equivalent of G to PG to high school-aged content). To use the site is free because the money is made from ad views (which are also all kid-friendly). Best of all, profits from the ads go towards the artists of the comics. So! By checking out comics on kidjutsu you are also indirectly helping me :)
While I'm on the topic I should mention something I've gotten a few e-mails and comments about as well. Although I didn't aim to make Shizentai a "kid's comic" per-say, it has been my intention from the beginning to produce a comic accessible to (and hopefully enjoyable for) people of all ages. When I used to go to conventions for Communication Confusion, parents would frequently come up to me and ask if my comic was appropriate for young kids. Because of the way it was then, containing just a few four-letter words, I always had to tell them no... which is ridiculous since I didn't really know why I put them there in the first place.
For that reason, I look at Shizentai as a challenging new endeavor: to portray a fighting martial art in its entirety without isolating either kids or adults from the messages people much wiser than myself have passed down through their dojo over the years. To my young and old viewers alike, this one is for you.

About a week ago I came across this really cool site. Basically, you can go there to look at art by various artists -but there's a catch: they have to put up some old and terrible work side by side with their more recent successful works. The purpose is to be a resource for inspiration and improvement for all artists, right down to the earliest beginners. So as I am today's featured artist, I have decided to put up some really cruddy old junk along side some secret future pages of a bunch of projects I'm working on including this comic.
Need I say more? It's GREAT fun to browse around, and it updates frequently so I highly recommend checking it out. The artist for the webcomic The Meek (which I highly recommend by the way) is also on there.
This weekend was my first off in a while, so I took the opportunity to finish a bunch of art projects. First and foremost, of course, was this week's page of Shizentai. I also found enough time to plant a garden outside my apartment, go to the movies with my sister, eat out, and tonight I will be attending a barbecue! Man, summer rocks... even if my vacation is only three days long =_= Enjoy! See you next Monday!
